LEARN by CUI Virtual Campus is powered by Open edX. Study happens on credx.vcomsats.edu.pk. This page is a student help center for accounts, enrollment, course tools, and credentials.
Getting started
- Creating an account: Click “Create account” on the homepage. Use your valid CUI VC email address and a strong password. Pakistani learners may need to provide CNIC/B-Form/Phone number for verification.
- Activating your account: Check your email for a confirmation link. Click the link to activate your account.
- Logging in: Use your registered email and password. If you forget your password, click “Forgot Password” to reset it.
- Profile setup: After logging in, go to your dashboard → Account Settings to update your full name, profile picture, and contact information.
Enrolling in courses
- Browsing courses: Visit Courses or Catalog. Use filters to search by category (AI, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, and others) or skill level.
- Enrollment options: Open a course card → Enroll Now. Some courses are free (audit track), while micro-credentials require payment. Follow the payment gateway instructions.
- Accessing enrolled courses: Dashboard → My Courses. Click the course thumbnail to enter the learning environment.
- Unenrolling: Course page → Unenroll. Refund eligibility is governed by our Terms of Service.
Navigating a course
- Course outline: Use the left-hand sidebar to expand sections and subsections. Each subsection contains sequential learning steps (video, reading, discussion, quiz).
- Videos: Adjust playback speed (0.75x to 2x), enable captions if available, and download transcripts.
- Assignments: Work may include multiple-choice, drag-and-drop, coding problems, or file uploads (PDF, DOC, ZIP). Always click Submit or Check. You can usually retry until the deadline.
- Discussion forums: Ask questions or help peers in the Discussion tab. Be respectful and follow academic integrity rules.
- Grades: Open the Progress tab for graded assignments, your current score, and the passing threshold (usually 60% or as specified).
Earning micro-credentials
- After you complete graded requirements and reach the passing score, a digital certificate / micro-credential is issued within 14 days.
- Download certificates from your dashboard under Credentials. They are verifiable via a unique URL.
- Stackable micro-degrees: Accumulate micro-credentials from a predefined track. When required courses are complete, request the micro-degree from the Virtual Campus office.
Technical requirements
- Latest Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari.
- At least 2 Mbps for video playback.
- JavaScript and cookies enabled.
- The platform is responsive in a mobile browser. There is no dedicated app at this time.
- Some exams may require a webcam and microphone. Setup notes appear in the course.
Troubleshooting
- Videos not playing: Refresh, clear cache, or disable ad-blockers.
- Assignment not saving: Check your connection, confirm Submit, or try another browser.
- Deadline passed: Late work is generally not accepted unless the instructor granted an extension beforehand.
- Cannot see my course: Confirm you are on the correct account. After a new enrollment, wait a few minutes and refresh.
- Certificate not showing: Confirm passing criteria. Certificates generate within 14 days after the course end date.
